II ARCHAEOLOGY CONFERENCE ON PROTOHISTORY AND ANTIQUITY

After a year and a half of restrictions, the Association of Independent Professionals of Archaeology of Asturias resumes its informative activities aimed at all audiences. As on previous occasions, the conferences will be held in the auditorium of the Archaeological Museum of Asturias with free admission until full capacity is reached.

Program:

Friday, September 24

18:00 h. The high altitude settlement of Antrialgo (Piloña) by Juan R. Muñiz Álvarez and José Antonio Longo Marina.

19:00 h. Phases of occupation in the settlements of Alto Sil (León) by Rubén Rubio Díez 

Friday, October 1st

  • 18:00 h. Some particularities of the habitat built during the Roman period in the castros of western Asturias by Sergio Ríos González.
  • 19:00 h. Social transformations between the Iron Age and the beginning of the Roman domination in the western area of Cismontana Asturias by Alejandro Beltrán Ortega.

Friday, October 8th

18:00 h. History and balance of the investigations of two emblematic castra of western Asturias. El Castelón de Coaña and the castro de Mohías by Elías Carrocera Fernández.
19:00 h. The lines of investigation opened in León about the Iron Age in the lands of León by Jesús Celis Sánchez.

Saturday, October 9th

Visit to the Asturian-Roman city of Lancia and the Museum of the Peoples of León in Mansilla de las Mulas.Departure at 9 am and return at 8:30 pm. Reservation at the Archaeological Museum of Asturias, from Wednesday to Sunday, phone 985 208 977. (38 € including lunch).
